Payments – Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I pay?

There are several reasons why your payment might fail, including:

  • Insufficient funds
  • Incorrectly entered card details
  • Card registered outside of the UK
  • Unable to pass 3D Secure checks with your bank

If your card is declined, contact your bank first to check there are no issues. If everything is fine and you’re still unable to pay, please get in touch with us so we can investigate further.

What cards do you accept?

We currently accept payments via credit or debit card only when purchasing through our website.

Why is my payment showing as pending but I have not received my policy documents?

A “pending” payment usually means one of your payment attempts failed, and your bank is temporarily holding the funds in a process known as ring-fencing. This is common and should resolve automatically.

If your payment is pending but no policy documents have been issued, your policy may not be live. Please submit a query to us via the Contact Us page.

I've found a payment I don't recognise, what should I do?

If you spot a payment you don’t recognise and suspect fraud, please contact your bank immediately. They will liaise with us directly and follow the correct process to help reclaim your funds.

Due to the Data Protection Act 2018, we cannot provide details of the transaction directly to you. If you believe your details have been compromised, we recommend contacting Action Fraud, who can issue you a crime reference number.

We will fully cooperate with any investigation and provide the required information to the authorities. For more information on debit card fraud, visit Action Fraud – Debit Card Fraud .

How do I cancel my policy?

If your policy is for 30 days or less, you can cancel anytime, but no refund will be available due to the short-term nature of cover. To cancel, please contact us. For more details, see our Refund Policy.

Why can't I get a refund?

Our short-term policies are non-refundable in line with FCA Guidelines. Once cover is set up, associated costs are paid to the MID, Insurer, and other relevant agencies, which cannot be reversed. For this reason, refunds are not available.
